How Cannabis Insider reports, verifies, and publishes UK cannabis news and guides.
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This page provides general information only and does not constitute legal, medical, or professional advice. If you need specific guidance, consult a qualified professional. Content on Cannabis Insider relates to UK cannabis news and policy and may not apply in other jurisdictions.
1. Purpose
Cannabis Insider exists to provide accurate, readable UK-focused coverage of cannabis news, policy, medical access, and related consumer information. This policy explains how we approach reporting, corrections, and editorial independence.
2. What we publish
Our content falls into four main types:
- News — timely reporting on UK enforcement, courts, policy, industry, and international stories with UK relevance
- Guides — longer explainers on law, medical access, driving, CBD, and related topics
- Reviews — product assessments that may include affiliate links, clearly disclosed
- Legal & policy pages — terms, privacy, disclosures, and this policy
We do not publish instructions for illegal activity. Guides explain UK law and legitimate routes — such as medical prescribing — rather than encouraging unlawful possession or supply.
3. Sourcing & attribution
We prefer primary sources: police and court reporting, government publications, company announcements, academic papers, and reputable news outlets. Where we rely on another publication's reporting — for example court coverage we did not attend — we name and link that source clearly.
Articles include named author bylines. Publication dates are displayed on every article. When material facts change after publication, we update the article and note significant corrections where appropriate.
4. Corrections
If you believe an article contains a factual error, please contact us with the article URL and the correction requested. We will review verified requests promptly and amend or clarify content as needed.
Opinion, analysis, and guide content may be updated to reflect changes in law or policy without a formal correction notice, but substantive factual errors will be corrected transparently.
5. Independence & funding
Cannabis Insider may earn revenue through display advertising and affiliate commissions on product reviews. News and guide content is written independently of advertisers and affiliate partners.
We do not accept payment for favourable news coverage. Sponsored content, if ever introduced, would be clearly labelled as such and kept separate from editorial reporting.
See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.
6. AI & editorial process
Some guides and SEO-focused articles may be drafted with assistance from content tools before being edited and published through our CMS. All published material is reviewed for UK accuracy, legal context, and readability before it goes live. Automated content is not published without human editorial oversight.
7. Comments & user submissions
Cannabis Insider does not currently host public comment sections. News tips and corrections can be submitted via our contact form.
