Investigation Launched in Gillingham
Kent Police have launched an investigation after a resident in Livingstone Road, Gillingham, received an unexpected delivery containing several bags of cannabis. The incident, which occurred on 4 September, highlights the ongoing complexities of illicit supply chains operating within residential areas.
According to the official police report, the homeowner was approached shortly after the delivery by a man claiming to be from the courier company. The individual alleged a "mix-up" had occurred and requested the return of the package. When the resident refused, the man returned twice more with an accomplice, attempting to retrieve the illicit goods.
Police Appeal for Information
The suspects have been described by police as follows:
* Suspect 1: Black, in his 20s, stocky build, wearing a black and purple cargo-style jacket and black cargo trousers. * Suspect 2: White, in his early 20s, skinny build, clean-shaven, and shorter, wearing jogging bottoms.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with the current prohibition-based model, which often leads to volatile encounters on residential doorsteps.
