Police Intercept Cultivation Supplies
Thames Valley Police officers in Wantage and Grove seized a vehicle on Friday, September 25, after discovering it was packed with equipment associated with setting up a cannabis cultivation operation. Officers described the car as looking "less like a car and more like a shed on wheels" due to the volume of gear inside.
Enforcement and Legal Issues
During the routine stop, officers identified several traffic offences, noting that the driver held only a provisional licence, was unaccompanied, and lacked valid insurance. Additionally, the driver was found in possession of drugs. While the vehicle was seized by the neighbourhood team, police have not yet confirmed if an arrest was made in connection with the cultivation equipment.
This incident highlights the ongoing focus of local forces on disrupting the supply chain for illicit cannabis production. While enforcement remains a priority for Thames Valley Police, advocates for reform continue to argue that a regulated, legal market would reduce the reliance on illicit operations and allow for safer, controlled access to cannabis products.
